Jakarta Manpower and Transmigration Department and Wage Council are conducting survey the standard cost of living (KHL) in ten traditional markets in the capital, Thursday (9/4). Among of those markets are Cempaka Putih, Joharbaru, Cengkareng, Grogol, Pasarminggu, Blok A, Kramatjati, Jatinegara, Sukapura, and Koja.

"Our team does the survey at the markets to set rate of provincial minimum wage," said Head of Jakarta Manpower and Transmigration Department, Prijono.

Prijono disclosed that the team role is to survey the price of various products into the daily living needs of the workers. "In the calculation, there are 60 components that should be surveyed, such as price of staple food, clothing, housing, transportation, including tertiary needs such as perfume, soap, bailer, and others," he expressed.

According to him, his department held survey seven times focused on 10 traditional markets in Jakarta. "The survey was held in the morning, considering in the afternoon, the price of some staple foods including vegetables in traditional markets tend to change. Survey aims to record the standard price," he said.

Based on the survey results conducted generally, there is no increase or decrease in price significantly. He predicted KHL rate in the capital is in the range of Rp 2.31 million per month.

"We'll hold a trial on the Wage Council on 30 September to set the KHL rate. Subsequently, its result would be taken to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) to become the basis for determining the 2015 UMP," he explained. "

Prijono added that the survey determination of the amount of KHL rate has also involved elements of the Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo). "If there is KHL determination, the workers do not need to protest anymore, because there has been representation in the formulation," he stated.
