Commodity Prices in Tidung Island JakGrosir Ensured to Remain Affordable

Since Sunday (9/22), JakGrosir in Tidung Island was officially operated. Perumda Pasar Jaya ensured commodities in Tidung Island JakGrosir are sold at the same price with JakGrosir in Jakarta.

Perumda Pasar Jaya Director, Arief Nasrudin expected this JakGrosir to fulfill Thousand Islands residents needs in affordable prices.

"Thousand Islands resident's problem is staple commodities in here are sold with higher prices than in Jakarta caused by high transport cost. Thus we want to provide JakGrosir to solve this problem," he said, Monday (9/23).

He explained, JakGrosir in Tidung Island accommodates 592 merchants who have been registrated by Perumda Pasar Jaya and have Jakarta Pintar Card.

"It is our effort to equalize commodity prices in Jakarta and Thousand Islands. Government through Perumda Pasar Jaya wants to ensure merchant's needs in Thousand Islands are facilitated thus when they resell it to consumer, its price can be the same as in Jakarta," he stated.

In order to ensure commodity goods sold by merchants are not too high, Pasar Jaya will monitor and evaluate it continuously.

"We will maintain commodity stock and price. Besides we also have market mechanism that controls the selling price. If one merchant sells goods higher than the others, of course it certainly doesn't sell," he conveyed.
