Council Expects City to Intensify Inundation and Flood Prevention Work

After raining in Jakarta last night, Jakarta Council (DPRD) Elected Vice Chairman from Demokrat faction, Misan Samsuri wants regional working units (SKPD/UKPD)s to intensify their work in preventing inundation and flood, on Wednesday (10/9).

Both personnel and their equipment should be prepared well

According to him, areas prone to inundation and flood should be mapped immediately thus related sides only need to prepare supporting equipment such as mobile pump on the location.

"Thus they can handle it fast when the rain is potential to cause inundation. Both personnel and their equipment should be prepared well," he asserted, Wednesday (10/9).

He mentioned that early warning system should be implemented well thus residents can anticipate when rain is potential to cause inundation and flood.

"If evacuation is needed, they must conduct it fast, especially for elderly and children," he added.

Jakarta DPRD Elected Vice Chairman from Partai Keadilan Sejahtera faction, Abdurahman Suhaimi stated, residents can contribute in preventing inundation and flood by not littering, especially to the water channel.

"I want residents to hold communal work to clean garbage in their settlement, especially water channels. So, let us maintain cleanliness in our environment together," he conveyed.
