Commission D Agrees Reservoir Naturalization Budget Proposal

Jakarta Council (DPRD) Commission D agreed the budget of naturalization program for five reservoirs proposed by Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Department in City Budget (APBD) General Policy and Provisional Budget Priorities and Funding Levels (KUA-PPAS) 2020.

"Surely we will support if it is used to handle flood. We have agreed the budget around Rp 288 billion for five reservoirs naturalization project," stated Nova Harivan Paloh, Deputy Chairperson of Commission D, Tuesday (11/5).

Meanwhile, Jakarta SDA Department Head, Juaini Yusuf explained, reservoir naturalization is a multiyears project that is done in 2019 and 2020. Construction work for reservoir naturalization is targeted to complete in 2020.

KUA-PPAS Discussion Gets Appreciation

According to him, those five reservoirs are Kampung Rambutan 1 and Kampung Rambutan 2 Reservoirs, Cimanggis Reservoir, Sunter Reservoir, and West Canal Reservoir. Until today, construction in Kampung Rambutan Reservoir has reached 50 percent.

"Naturalization means to return it to the nature concept. Such as a place for public interaction, jogging track and green space," he mentioned.
