UPAS Regularly Conducts Emission Tests for School Buses

The School Transportation Management Unit (UPAS) under Jakarta Transportation Agency is regularly conducting emission tests toward 176 bus schools.

It also maintains the engine. So the school students who use our services are also comfortable

Jakarta Transportation Agency's UPAS Head Mohamad Insaf said it is a routine agenda and done gradually for 20 units every Saturday that is by involving the brand-holder sole distributors (ATPM) at the UPAS office in Kramat Jati, East Jakarta.

"This is free. Last year it was done once every six months because we also undergo kir test, but now it is only once every three months every Saturday," he expressed, Thursday (11/7).

Smart Card for Vehicles in Jakarta is Tested

It is actually one of the agendas listed in Gubernatorial Instruction number 66/2019 on air quality control issued by Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan to strengthen the measures to curb air pollution.

"We also want to give an example to the public thus vehicle exhaust emissions are up to standard or not exceeding the threshold," he explained.

Besides supporting air quality control, this emission test will certainly affect engine performance. Thus, it gives more comfort for users and other motorists on the road.

"It also maintains the engine. So the school students who use our services are also comfortable," he stated.
