City to Cover Land Acquisition for Ciawi Reservoir Construction

A construction plan of Ciawi and Sukamahi Reservoirs in Bogor, West Java, is currently already entered the stage of feasibility study and making of Engineering Detail Design (DED). The construction itself is scheduled for late 2015 and will take as long as three years.

Head of the Ciliwung-Cisadane Flood Control Office (BBWSCC), Public Works Ministry, T Iskandar disclosed after passing through feasibility study and DED making, the next process is physical construction. "We hope the physical construction can finish at the end of 2015," he expressed, Friday (9/12).

He revealed that Jakarta Vice Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama wanted both reservoirs could be constructed in 2017.

Thus far, his party does not have any constraints in such project because of Bogor and Jakarta were committed to each other and agreed to build reservoirs as flooding mitigation in the capital. "Land needed is 110 hectares, with details, 92 hectares for Ciawi and less than 28 hectares for Sukamahi," he stated.

Fund for physical construction is Rp 2 trillion. And its land acquisition will be covered by Jakarta Provincial Government.

Deputy Head of Jakarta Public Works Sub-Department, Agus Priyono disclosed that Rp 1.2 trillion has been allocated for land acquisition. "After feasibility study and DED making, the next process is land procurement and socialization," he told.
