Jakarta Transportation Department plans to build a bicycle lane along Surapati Park-City Hall. Besides this lane, bicycle lanes will also be built in five municipalities. This plan is currently being reviewed.

Upcoming bicycle lanes will be built on the right side of the roads, or precisely on the fast lanes. But if the roads were passed by TransJakarta, the bicycle lanes will be on the right side. Special signs will also be built along the bicycle lanes, so cyclists would not have to worry get collide with motorists.
