Four Kilograms of Water Spinach Harvested from Madusela RPTRA

The Mangga Dua Selatan (Madusela) Child-friendly Integrated Public Space (RPTRA) Administrator, Ahmad Hasan mentioned, his side harvested four kilograms of water spinach from urban farming that has been developed in RPTRA which is located on Jalan Mangga Besar XIII, Mangga Dua Selatan Urban Village, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta.

Alhamdulillah, result of water spinach harvest is very good

According to him, those water spinach plants were planted with assistance from Central Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Sub-department using vertiminaponic method.

"Alhamdulillah, result of water spinach harvest is very good. From 15 box with a size of 1.3 meters for each box, we can harvest 4 kilograms of water spinach," he stated, Monday (12/2).

Some of the harvests, he added, are distributed to urban farming activists in the RPTRA. While the rest is sold by Rp 10,000 per bunch.

"Water spinach plants grow very fast. It only needs 24 days from seeding to harvesting period," he mentioned.

Sawah Besar TP PKK Leader, Ava Dhina stated, her side will continue to develop urban farming in order to use limited land optimally.

"Urban farming gives us many benefits. It can improve food resilient, make the environment greener and improve community welfare," she asserted.
