Payung Island Housewives Get Urban Farming Training

The Payung Island housewives, Tidung Island Urban Village, South Thousand Islands, participated in urban farming training from the Jejak Seribu community in collaboration with the Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency (Dispora).

To them, we share about basic materials in urban farming and hands-on practice

Jejak Seribu Chairman Andi Hakim said, to support this training, his invited a speaker, Amarizni who is an alumnus of the Bogor Agricultural University (IPB).

"To them, we share about basic materials in urban farming and hands-on practice," he expressed, Wednesday (12/4).

He stated that several types of plants that are suitable to be planted in coastal areas on Payung Island were chili, orange, watermelon, cucumber, sapodilla and dragon fruit.

"Hopefully it has economic value to the island community," he said.

Tidung Island Urban Village Head Cecep Suryadi added that he thanked the Jejak Seribu community and Dispora for holding training and sharing knowledge to their citizens.

"By so citizens can use the house yard for urban farming," he stated.
