South-South Knowledge Exchange Delegations Take a Tour to Jakarta History Museum

This Tuesday (12/17), participants of South-South Knowledge Exchange Program visited several locations in Jakarta in order to see city's challenges and reformations. From morning to afternoon, they visited Kota Tua (Old Town) area such as Kali Besar, Fatahillah Park, Jakarta Historical Museum, jamu (traditional herb beverage) cafe, and also Kampung Akuarium.

This is my first time in Jakarta. But I think this museum tour is interesting

At first, they arrived at Kali Besar to see the latest revitalization result on Kali Besar River, then continued by walking to the Fatahillah Park and Jakarta Historical Museum.

In the Museum, they were explained by Jakarta Tourism and Culture Department (Disparbud)'s Kota Tua Management Unit Head, Norviadi S. Husodo about Kota Tua transformation from time to time.

"We will continue to improve our service for visitors related to the promotion, publication, and public service. For example by adding more museum tour guides, providing mini theater to welcome VIP visitors, and implementing digitization," he explained.

One of the participants from Dar es Salaam City of Tanzania, Victor Seff stated, his side found it interesting to have this museum tour.

"This is my first time in Jakarta. But I think this museum tour is interesting. Besides, I am quite impressed with the museum tour guide since she is very helping and knows deeply about the history," he explained.

For information, City and The World Bank are cooperated to hold South-South Knowledge Exchange Program with theme of 'Jakarta Integrated Urban Transformation' in Jakarta on December 15-20, 2019. This program is participated by delegations from international cities and local cities in Indonesia. In this program, delegations are invited to see actual conditions and challenges in Jakarta as the urban city.
