Post-Flood Communal Work in Rawa Jati Continues

Post-flood disaster, the ranks of South Jakarta administration assisted by army/police and locals are conducting a communal work in RW 07, Rawa Jati Urban Village, Pancoran, South Jakarta today, on Sunday (1/5).

South Jakarta Vice Mayor Isnawa Adji said it is a gradual cleanup since Saturday (1/4) yesterday. This time, they worked together to clean up the remaining debris that was washed away in Ciliwung River and the rest of the mud left by puddles and floods.

"Despite rain intensity is high, we must keep doing cleaning to avoid clogging in waterways and rivers, especially Ciliwung," he explained.

South Jakarta Government and Locals Clean Up Settlements in Pengadegan

He also urges locals to keep maintaining cleanliness and anticipating disaster.

"Sub-district heads must strengthen coordination with locals related with disaster mitigation and aid distribution," he stressed.

Pancoran Sub-district Head Rizky Adhari added, in Rawa Jati, as many as 150 households were affected by flooding.

"Rawa Jati has 7 RTs in RW 07 with 150 households and has four refugee camps on Jalan Bina Marga, at Rawajati 2 Puskesmas, Kalibata Flyover, Zeni Housing Complex RW 2 and BPK GOR," he told.

He added flood had occurred since January 1-3.

"The need experienced at this time is school supplies, as children are already going to school and hygiene kits," he told.

To request them, his party will coordinate with the Education Agency, CSR, BUMD Communication Forum through the Flood Post in Rawa Jati," he said.
