6,600 Rapid Test Kits Provided in Hospitals and Puskesmas in East Jakarta

As many as 6,600 units of COVID-19 rapid test kit have been distributed to hospitals and health centers (puskesmas) in East Jakarta.

East Jakarta Health Sub-Agency (Sudinkes) Head, Indra Setiawan said, for hospitals, rapid test kits have been distributed to Matraman RSUD, Kramat Jati RSUD, Ciracas RSUD, Cipayung RSUD, and Adhiyaksa RSU. According to him, rapid test will be prioritized for health workers, people with low-high risk for COVID-19 who have close relation with confirmed case patients, and people under investigation (ODP).

"Health workers who help carry out the rapid test will be equipped with personal protective equipment (PPE) including helmet, face mask, gloves, and jacket to make sure they are safe and not exposed to the virus," he explained, Saturday (3/28).

He mentioned, rapid test can provide results in around 30 minutes to 3 hours.

"Rapid test is similar to screening test. When it shows positive result, it will be continued with further handling with laboratory test," he stated.

If the result is negative, he reminds for not immediately assume that they are free from COVID-19, but suggests to take the test again within the next 7-10 days. He also reminded people with negative result to isolate themselves until they are officially confirmed negative of COVID-19.

For information, as many as 3,500 people in East Jakarta have been tested using rapid test kit up to this day.
