BPBD Uses Disaster Warning System to Socialize PSBB Regulations

Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) uses Disaster Warning System (DWS) units to intensify Large-scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) socialization. For information, DWS was previously used to disseminate flooding information.

We use it to inform people about PSBB implementation

Jakarta BPBD's Information and Disaster Data Center Head, Mohammad Insaf conveyed, his side will socialize residents continuously about PSBB implementation as an effort to encourage more people to prevent COVID-19 transmission together.

"There are 23 DWS units installed in several residential areas that prone to inundation. We use it to inform people about PSBB implementation," he said, Thursday (4/16).

According to him, information will be disseminated twice a day at 9 AM and 1 PM. He will encourage residents to comply with PSBB regulations by not leaving house if there is no urgent need, especially going out of town and abroad.

"We also remind the importance of health protocol in preventing COVID-19 transmission by wearing face mask, washing hand using soap, and performing physical distance at least 2 meters with other people," he added.

Through DWS, his side will also inform public transport operational hours that change from normal days.

"Through continuous socialization, we are grateful that more people can comply with PSBB regulation, especially those who live in areas prone to inundation," he said.
