217 Parks in East Jakarta are Certainly Well Maintained

The Parks and City Forestry Sub-agency Head Christian Tamora Hutagalung says as many as 217 parks spread over East Jakarta are in good condition. This is because routine maintenance keeps being carried out to prevent damage to plants and to the facilities.

While on duty, they must wear masks, gloves, boots, long sleeve shirts, etc

Despite the park is closed temporarily, he expressed park maintenance continues to be done in accordance with health protocol system and Gubernatorial Regulation number 33/2020 on PSBB in Jakarta.

"Since the coronavirus broke out, all parks, urban forests and Taman Maju Bersama (TMB) are temporarily closed to the public," he said, Friday (4/17).

Of the 217 parks, 9 of them are TMB, 13 are city forests and 100 are green belts. Then for public facility workers, his sub-agency has around 660 people with their respective main tasks and functions.

"While on duty, they must wear masks, gloves, boots, long sleeve shirts, etc," he told.

He added the condition of the park is certainly well maintained. Especially for TMB, some need to be fixed as they are located in a flood-prone area. They are Al Umar 1 and 2 TMB in Lubang Buaya (Cipayung) and Manunggal TMB in Cipinang Melayu (Makasar)

"The part that needs repairs is like painting a dull wall, the rest is still in good condition," he closed.
