Jakarta Tripartit Distributes 400 Food Packages to Workers

The Jakarta Triparit Cooperation Institution (LKS) has started distributing 400 food packages to workers affected by COVID-19 outbreak. It is also in the context of Labor Day celebration, which falls every May 1.

Those food packages provided are rice, cooking oil, sardines and instant noodles

"Those food packages provided are rice, cooking oil, sardines and instant noodles. We also give them 10,000 cloth masks and 100 bottles of hand sanitizers," expressed Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Agency Head, Andri Yansyah, Gambir, Central Jakarta, Monday (5/4).

According to him, collaboration and entrepreneurial contributions are very much needed in difficult times facing the COVID-19 pandemic. The government, employers and trade unions must synergize to help the community in this case of workers in need.

"Don't look at how much, but see from the concern of employers and the government to workers who need it in difficult times," he explained.

In the meantime, Jakarta Apindo Leader Solihin uttered this social aid is a form of appreciation and concern for workers.

"Hopefully it can lighten their burden. This is our concern to relieve our brothers and sisters (workers) affected by this pandemic," he stated.

Jakarta Kadin Vice Chairman for Employment and Training Education, Hebert Simbolon added employers continue to care for all workers in the company.

"The wheels of the company's economy can't be separated from the participation of workers," he told.

His side remains optimistic that collaboration between the government, employers and workers can face difficult times amid COVID-19 crisis.

"This case is almost felt in almost all countries. We are at a loss, all must give in to one another so we can get through this. So we must collaborate in dealing with this problem. That is our commitment," he asserted.

Jakarta DPD LEM SPSI under Tripartit LKS member Chairul Anwar appreciates the government and employer's concern in helping workers.
