North Jakarta Implements Sanctions for PSBB Violators

The North Jakarta administration has implemented sanctions on people who break the large-scale social restrictions (PSBB). Every citizen found twice violating may be subject to administrative fines.

North Jakarta COVID-19 Handling Task Force Chairperson Ali Maulana Hakim said it is compliance with Gubernatorial Regulation number 41/2020 on Sanctions Against PSBB Violations in Handling Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Jakarta.

To enforce the regulation, his party will conduct a routine patrol by involving Satpol PP, Manpower and Transmigration Sub-agency, Industry Sub-agency, Industry, Cooperatives, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Trade (KUMKMP), Transportation Sub-agency assisted by army/police.

"We will carry out it according to the schedule from April 24 to May 21," he stated, Wednesday (5/13).

North Jakarta Satpol PP Head Yusuf Majid explained there are two types of sanctions for PSBB violators starting yesterday, namely sanctions as administrative fines.

He furthered the provisions and procedures for the sanctions is in Article 16. It is given depending on the specific gravity of the violation. It is done to give deterrent effect.

"Our aim is to save people from COVID-19 transmissions," he stated.
