City Relaxes KJP Plus Disbursement Rules During COVID-19 Crisis

Seeing the COVID-19 pandemic situation in Jakarta, the Jakarta Education Agency decided to relax the KJP Plus disbursement scheme during large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) in the capital, which aims to facilitate KJP Plus recipients to enjoy the funds provided.

This scheme can be disbursed starting in May 2020 and is valid during PSBB

In normal conditions for instance, the KJP Plus recipients for SD levels receive Rp 250,000, whereby its disbursement is divided into two parts, namely routine and periodic funds. Routine funds are disbursed every month amounting to Rp 135,000 and Rp 100,000 can be taken in cash, the remaining funds are spent cashlessly, usually for cheap food shopping.

While periodic funds amounting Rp 115,000 per month is disbursed once every six months at the end of the semester, to be spent cashlessly for student needs.

Commission E Wants KJP Plus Program to Be Optimized

Responding on this matter, the Education Agency takes the initiative to merge routine and periodic funds each month and temporarily remove non-cash disbursements. With this policy, all incoming funds can be used directly in cash or non-cash. In June, they had to negate periodic funds and will be disbursed every month. Thus the nominal that can be enjoyed is Rp 250,000 for SD students, Rp 300,000 for SMP students, Rp 420,000 for SMA students, Rp 450,000 for SMK students and Rp 300,000 for PKBM students.

Aside that, a form of concern for the health and safety of KJP Plus recipients during COVID-19 crisis was to temporarily abolish cheap food shopping and replaced with a free social aid package during PSBB. By so the KJP Plus funds can be used for urgent needs.

Nevertheless, Jakarta Education Agency Head Nahdiana stressed that this policy applies at a certain time.

"This scheme can be disbursed starting in May 2020 and is valid during PSBB," he expressed, Friday (5/15), as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.

She explained there is additional funding for students who have just graduated from SMA/SMK. KJP Plus recipients who are already in twelfth grade or who are preparing to enter college, will remain receive a bridging fund by Rp 500,000 per person," she explained.

To avoid the crowds at the DKI Bank Offices and ATMs, the disbursement phase I is scheduled as follow:

1. KJP Plus SD/SDLB/MI, on May 15

2. KJP Plus SMP/SMPLB/MTs/PKBM, on May 18

3. KJP Plus SMA/SMALB/MA/SMK, on May 20

4. Disbursement of Bridging Funds or additional fees for twelfth grade students will also be held in May.

Those who already have the JakOne Mobile app are also urged to monitor incoming funds and transactions via mobile phones. If you really have to go to an ATM or Bank DKI Office, you must pay attention to the PSBB rules and do the following things;

• Always wear a mask

• Delay to ATMs and Bank DKI Office if there is a crowd

• Wash your hands often with soap and do the ethics of coughing and sneezing

• Avoid shaking hands and kissing the cheeks. Use other methods to greet each other without having to touch

She hoped that it could lighten the students and parents' burden during COVID-19 outbreak. She also said that students remain enthusiastic about studying, even though they learn from home.

"Don't leave your home if it's not urgent. The more we are disciplined, this pandemic will be handled, and the sooner we can learn in school," she closed.
