On Eid al-Fitr 1441 Hijri, Jakarta Government noted an increase in air quality in Jakarta, especially during Large-scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) period.
We conclude the air quality on Eid 2020 is the best compared to the Eid in the last five years
Jakarta Environment Agency (LH) Agency Head, Andono Warih conveyed, on Eid al-Fitr the PM 2.5 concentration in all locations of Jakarta showed a decrease in the amount compared to the previous days.
In average, amount of PM 2.5 concentration before and after Eid al-Fitr has met the PM 2.5 quality standard (<65 ug/m3). While the CO concentration ahead of and during this year's Eid al-Fitr showed relatively small number.
Anies Lays Out City's LKPJ Development Achievements in Plenary Meeting"Because the main source of CO2 from transportation sector has decreased since PSBB was implemented, thus CO concentration is very low and meet the quality standard (< 9 ug/m3)," he explained, Tuesday (5/26).
According to him, pollutant concentration for parameters of PM 2.5, CO, NO2, SO2, and O3 tends to reduce on the period ahead of Eid al-Fitr and Eid holidays in the last five years. But this year, the air pollution concentration is decreased even further.
"We conclude the air quality on Eid 2020 is the best compared to the Eid in the last five years," he stated.
On Eid 2020, he added, concentration of PM 10, PM 2.5, CO, NO2, SO2 and O3 is lower than on Eid 2019.
"On Eid 2019, concentration of PM 2.5 is 28 percent, while 23 percent for PM 10, 8 percent for CO, 13 percent for NO2, 4 percent for SO2, and 41 percent for O3," he told.
For information, in this monitoring, Jakarta LH Agency has recorded pollutant concentration from 6 Air Quality Monitoring Stations (Suku) in Bundaran HI, Central Jakarta which designated for roadside; in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta designated for settlement; Jagakarsa, South Jakarta designated for settlement; Lubang Buaya, East Jakarta designated for settlement; Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta designated for settlement; and 3 units of Mobile SPKU.
