Waste Sorting Campaign on Panggang Island Intensified

The Panggang Island Urban Village, North Thousand Islands is continuously promoting waste sorting to residents on Pramuka and Panggang islands, which aims to reduce the pile of garbage that will be sent to the Bantargebang.

We encourage them (residents) to use the waste bank

On this occasion, residents were taught to start to sort organic and non-organic waste from their respective homes.

"The non-organic can be sent to a waste bank. While the organic ones, the janitor makes them into compost or animal feed," expressed Panggang Island Urban Village Head, Pepen Kuswandi, Thursday (5/28).

Related to waste that has been transported since Eid al-Fitr (5/24) until Wednesday (5/27) yesterday, he explained, was recorded at 1.8 tons. They consisted of 1.5 tons of non-organic waste and 3 quintals of organic waste.

"We encourage them (residents) to use the waste bank, which is managed by PPSU and by residents on Pramuka Island," he closed.
