Making PHB Not Functioning, 39 Buildings Demolished

As many as 90 joint personnel from Satpol PP, army, and police tore down tens of buildings stood atop a connecting channel of Budi Mulia Utara on Jalan Mulia Utara, RW 13, Pademangan Barat Urban Village, Pademangan Sub-District, North Jakarta, Wednesday (10/8), around 8 AM.

We had done socialization and asked the building owners to demolish their buildings themselves. But until the demolition warrant sent on Monday (10/6), our request was ignored

Those buildings, which used as stalls and lavatory, have made the channel not functioning due to strewn with trashes. Because of this condition, the channel’s water often overflowed and inundated Jalan Budi Mulia Utara for as high as 30-60 centimeters, particularly in rainy season.

Deputy Head of Pademangan Sub-District, Yudi Dwi, said that before the demolition, his party had done socialization to the building owners. In addition, he also had coordinated with Main Naval Base (Lantamal) III Headquarter which located right behind those buildings.

Illegal Buildings on Jalan Raya Cipinang Kebembem will Be Demolished

“We had done socialization and asked the building owners to demolish their buildings themselves. But until the demolition warrant sent on Monday (10/6), our request was ignored. That’s why we do demolition today. After this, the channel will be normalized in a bid to minimize water from inundating the road again,” he stated.
