Residents Request Improvement in Status of Thousand Islands RSUD

We need improvement thus people do not have to go to mainland Jakarta to seek treatment

Residents living in Thousand Islands through Regency Council are requesting the status of the Seribu Islands General Regional Hospital (RSUD) on Pramuka Island, North Thousand Islands from type D to the higher types.

North Thousand Islands Regency Council Ahmad Jufri expressed it was important to serve as a reference for handling certain diseases.

"We need improvement thus people do not have to go to mainland Jakarta to seek treatment," he expressed, during an audience with a group of DPD members in the Regency Office hall, Tuesday (7/14).

Besides health, he furthered, the transportation sector was also still an obstacle in Thousand Islands as there was no integrated inter-island regular transportation yet.

"Currently residents or tourists have to pay around Rp 300 to 600 thousand to rent a boat to another island. The transportation costs to the ground are cheaper, as there are many regular ships or river water taxis," he stated.
