Council Supports Extension of Transition Phase Until July 30

Its decision was taken as the latest data have shown an increasing trend in new COVID-19 cases

Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) Vice Chairman Abdurrahman Suhaim supports the Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan's decision on the extension of the transitional period of large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) for the next two weeks or up to July 30.

"Its decision was taken as the latest data have shown an increasing trend in new COVID-19 cases," he expressed, Friday (7/17).

Thereby he urged Jakartans to be more disciplined in implementing the COVID-19 prevention protocol by wearing masks, washing hands and maintaining physical distancing.

"This is for the common good," he stressed.

Aside that, he stressed the executive to immediately make an economic breakthrough and relax through persuasive policies, in a bid to dilute the psychological pressure of people.

"Hopefully they will provide persuasive policies such as, the partisanship program in the SME sector, thus their economy continues to run and health protocols are implemented," he closed.
