Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD)'s Commission A Member Hasbiallah Ilyas supports progressive fines policy for residents, business actors and people responsible for public facilities that violate the health protocol for preventing COVID-19 in Jakarta.

According to him, the policy stated in Gubernatorial Regulation number 79/2020 needs to be supported considering that the spread of COVID-19 in Jakarta was still high.

"Surely I'm supporting it for the common good," he expressed, Tuesday (8/25).

By so, he uttered the supervisory function of the three pillar elements could be further strengthened. It was important to increase citizen awareness about the dangers of COVID-19.

"The role of the urban village and sub-district heads must be optimized. They must regularly socialize health protocol rules to residents thus the pandemic can end soon," he stated.
