As we know, Jakarta has launched JakWiFi internet access that has become a daily necessity for all households, especially during the pandemic when people have been forced to work and study remotely.
As we can see in the neighborhood of RW 02, Ancol, Pademangan, North Jakarta, the residents have well used the free internet.
Jakarta Smart City Continues to Add More JakWIFI Access PointsOne of residents in RW 11/02, Ancol, Rasya Faturahman (11) admitted that he was happy about free internet in his residential area. Previously he could only access it via the tethering connection of his father's cellphone.
"And now I can access information via internet for free without tethering from my father's cellphone," he stated, when being interviewed by Beritajakarta.id, Tuesday (9/1).
Even this fourth grade student also felt very helpful in attending Distance Learning (PJJ) from school.
"When I was using the internet access from my father's cellphone, I was only able to send homework from school after my father came home," he told.
Similar statement also stated by Bima Pangestu, a third grade student of SDN 01 Ancol who lives in RT 12/02. Apart from doing schoolwork, this internet could also fill his spare time during the pandemic.
"We can now watch interesting content on Youtube and not get bored at home," he admitted.
RW 02 Chairman, Ancol, Darwis appreciated the JakWiFi in his region considering the economic condition of most of the residents were classified as the middle to lower class who have difficulty buying internet quota amid the pandemic.
"Most of the residents here are laborers and traders. That's why they are greatly helped by the JakWiFi service," he explained.
Since its launch last weekend until today, he added, the free internet network at RW 02 Post was always crowded with locals. Moreover, it could be accessible to 20 meters radius.
"Our hope is the initial plan to install the internet in three locations can be realized soon," he hoped.
