City-owned bus operator PT Transjakarta has launched its newest service unit 'The All New Purwarupa Mikrotrans. Unlike the previous microtrans fleet, this new service is designed to be more comfortable as it has air conditioner (AC).

"Besides AC, the passenger capacity of this latest fleet is also more spacious or able to carry 150 passengers under normal conditions. But during the pandemic, we only carry 50 percent or a maximum of seven people," expressed PT Transjakarta Services Director, Achmad Izul Waro, Tuesday (9/8).

He went on to say that it also had a myriad of other advantages such as automatic sliding doors, opening and closing doors from drivers, double AC (ducting), widescreen TV, comfortable foam passenger seats, CCTV with four cameras+DVR, running text with monitors and onboard unit (OBU).

"We also put a portable fire extinguisher (APAR), a safety belt and a glass breaking hammer in order to improve the sense of safety and comfort for passengers," he stated.

Currently his party is still testing The All New Purwarupa Mikrotrans with the route code JAK10 that serves Tanah Abang - Kota route with 78 stop points.

At this trial stage, has only operated one prototype unit for the next six months or from September 2020 to March 2021.

"Nevertheless we remain implement health protocols. We have prepared this unit with proper sanitation procedures. For operating hours start from 5 AM - 10 AM, Jakartans can ride it for free during the trial stage," he closed.
