SDA Builds Crossing Channel and Infiltration Wells in Tidung Island

In order to avoid flooding when heavy rain falls, Thousand Islands Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency made crossing channel and infiltration wells at RT 02/02 of Tidung Island Urban Village, South Thousand Islands.

Thousand Islands SDA Sub-agency Head, Abdul Rauf mentioned, his side deployed 8 personnel to build crossing channel and infiltration wells starting Tuesday (9/15). His side ensured the work to finish today.

"We build new infiltration wells to prevent flooding during the rainy season because this settlement is located in basin area," he stated, Friday (9/18).

290 Infiltration Wells Have been Made in East Jakarta Along January to September

In order to make crossing channel, his side used pipe with length around 50 meters that will drain the water to infiltration wells and then into the sea.

"Hopefully this crossing channel can prevent the areas from flooding," he said.
