Ujung Aspal Phb Channel Cleaned from 61.8 Tons Water Hyacinth

As many as 61.8 tons of water hyacinth were successfully taken from Ujung Aspal connecting (phb) channel, RT 12/05, Rorotan, Cilincing, North Jakarta.

Cilincing Sub-district Head, Muhammad Andri mentioned, channel was cleaned from water hyacinth during Grebek Lumpur activity which involving PPSU, North Jakarta SDA Sub-district, Jakarta Environment Agency's Water Body Unit, TNI and Police.
"We clean this phb channel from water hyacinth for two days, starting from Saturday (9/26) to Sunday (9/27)," he explained, Monday (9/28).
Five Cubic Meter of Water Hyacinth Transported from Untung Jawa IslandInitially, his side cleaned 700 meters of the channels from water hyacinth. In this cleaning, he used two wheeled-type heavy equipment.
"Then, we dredge mud from this channel," he added.
Cilincing Sub-district SDA Unit Head, Tjahyono Budi Setiawan stated, water hyacinth which taken from channel were sent to Bantargebang Integrated Waste Management Site (TPST), Bekasi, West Java. Later, the plant will be distributed to several lands owned by Jakarta Government not far from the location.
"Near the channel, there are several city's assets which are still not used. Water hyacinth will be spread in those locations as organic fertilizer," he conveyed.
