15 PPSU Personnel Clean Up Three Water Channels in Pluit

As many as 15 PPSU personnel of Pluit Urban Vill age, Penjaringan, North Jakarta were deployed in Grebek Lumpur activity which carried out to clean up three channels located on Jalan Pluit Karang Ayu.

If channels are full of mud, water cannot flow optimally and has a potential to cause inundation

Pluit Urban Village Head, Rosiwan said, mud dredging was carried out at RW 02 to anticipate inundation, especially to make water flow optimally to stilling basin at Pembangkitan Jawa Bali (PJB) Pump House of Muara Karang.

"If channels are full of mud, water cannot flow optimally and has a potential to cause inundation," he conveyed, Tuesday (9/29).

He believed that if water can flow optimally to stilling basin, then the settlement area can be freed from inundation. Because four pumps at PJB Pump House will drain the water immediately to the sea.

"We deploy 5 PPSU personnel in each areas prone to flood. We also prepare one thousand sacks for mud and garbage. Hopefully this cleaning can be completed in one or two days," he mentioned.
