Process of SPALD Construction in Sebira Island Reaches 48 Percent

Domestic Wastewater Management System (SPALD) construction on Sebira Island has reached 48 percent and from total target of 135 houses, currently the connection of 65 houses has been completed.

We are optimistic to finish it on time

Thousand Islands Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency's Clean Water and Wastewater Section Head, Fajar Avisena said, at initial phase, his side dig a hole to install 6-inch main pipe to residents' houses with length about 1,550 meters.

City Prepares Centralized Domestic Wastewater Management System

"After socializing it to local residents, we start the construction on early October," he mentioned, Wednesday (10/14).

SPALD is built for 135 houses in Sebira Island with budget Rp 11.25 billion.

"It is targeted to finish in December. We are optimistic to finish it on time," he asserted.

Meanwhile, RW 03 Head of Harapan Island Urban Village, Muhammad Ali Kurniawan expected all residents' houses to connect with SPALD. Thus domestic wastewater can be managed well and prevent it from contaminating ground water and sea water.

"Surely, our environment can be more cleaner and healthier," he expressed.
