Thousand Islands Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency has built 9 infiltration wells at RW 01, Untung Jawa Island Urban Village, South Thousand Islands Sub-district.

From total target 20 locations, we have finished infiltration wells in 9 locations

Thousand Islands SDA Sub-agency Head, Abdul Rouf mentioned, infiltration wells are really important to prevent inundation and preserve ground water during dry season.

"We have started the construction from last week. From total target 20 locations, we have finished infiltration wells in 9 locations," he informed, Tuesday (11/3).

Infiltration wells at RW 01 has size of 40x50 centimeters with depth about 1.5 meters. Distance between one infiltration well with the others is about 50-80 meters and connected with pipe.

"Our target is to finish building infiltration wells in 20 locations by next week," he asserted.
