New Year's Eve, 500 Joint Personnel will Monitor People's Activities in Central Jakarta

Central Jakarta Government deployed 500 joint personnel to monitor people's activities on New Year's Eve, on Thursday (12/31).

Hotel managers are prohibited from holding New Year's Eve celebration events

Central Jakarta Acting Mayor, Irwandi mentioned, joint personnel will be deployed in several locations to anticipate crowds in order to prevent COVID-19 transmission.

His side will also close several roads which often used by local residents to gather on New Year's Eve, such as Jalan Medan Merdeka, Sudirman, Thamrin, Benyamin Sueb, and other places.

Regent Asks Public to Stay at Home During New Year Holidays

Furthermore, his side will conduct inspection to several hotels in Thamrin and Sudirman areas to monitor health protocols implementation on New Year's Eve.

"Hotel managers are prohibited from holding New Year's Eve celebration events. I remind hotel managers to comply with applicable regulations in order to break chain of COVID-19 spread," he asserted.

Central Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Bernard Tambunan explained, joint personnel which consisted of Satpol PP, Transportation Agency (Dishub), Police, and TNI will monitor around Monas, Bundaran HI, Lapangan Banteng Park, Kemayoran, and Surapati Park starting this afternoon.

"No one is allowed to hold New Year's Eve celebration activities that trigger crowds," he closed.
