Therefore, Jakarta Government through Jakarta Satpol PP has routinely monitored health protocols implementation in the community, even since the beginning of the pandemic in last April.
Health Protocols Monitoring and Enforcement Operation is conducted every day to improve public awareness about the importance of implementing health protocols
Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Arifin mentioned, this monitoring was carried out according to Jakarta Gubernatorial Regulation (Pergub) No. 79 and 101/2020 and Gubernatorial Decree (Kepgub) No. 1295/2020 which impose number of sanctions for violations committed by individuals up to company, consisting of social sanctions, administration sanctions, and sealing.
"Health Protocols Monitoring and Enforcement Operation is conducted every day to improve public awareness about the importance of implementing health protocols. For example, Satpol PP Sub-district Unit has priority points and location points that are routinely monitored within their working area. This controlling activity is also carried out based on Satpol PP and Regional Apparatus' work programs, such as Sub-district and Urban Village Heads, as well as accommodating reports from local residents.
"It is done to minimize the possibility of people being exposed to COVID-19. However, we really need cooperation from entire community to be disciplined and carry out the regulations, thus we don't need to impose sanctions. Reduce activities outside if there is not urgent. Please don't hang out and just stay at home for the weekend, and avoid crowd," he asserted.
He also explained about how much the fines and types of sanctions applied in Jakarta. For those who don't wear masks can choose to be given social work sanction by cleaning public facilities for 60 minutes while wearing the violator's vest, or pay administrative fine Rp 250,000.
