Bulan Dana PMI 2020 Exceeds the Target, Anies Conveys People's Solidarity Increases During Pandemic

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan officially closed Jakarta Bulan Dana PMI 2020 through a closing ceremony which held virtually at Jakarta City Hall's Pola Room, Thursday (1/21).

Jakarta Bulan Dana PMI 2020 Fundraising reached Rp 29.9 billion. This figure is higher than the last achievement at Bulan Dana PMI 2019 which amounted to Rp 26.9 billion.
He explained, the significant increase at Bulan Dana PMI has exceeded the target. Due to pandemic, Bulan Dana PMI 2020 fundraising was only targeted to reach Rp 21 billion.

Furthermore, he also said the result could exceeded the target because of solidarity between communities which had increased during the pandemic, although economy in Jakarta also experienced an extraordinary contraction.
"Bulan Dana measures our social solidarity level, and Alhamdulillah Jakarta passed. Imagine that Jakarta's economy has experienced a tremendous contraction during the pandemic, but it has no impact on people's social solidarity, it even increasing," he stated.
He advised the related parties to make a good use of the collected funds for Jakarta residents. Especially in this pandemic, where his side expected PMI Jakarta will continue to actively make breakthroughs in efforts to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 in Jakarta.
"Hopefully the funds collected from public can support PMI to continue become the forefront in the pandemic situation. I think it is a good moment for PMI to make a breakthrough, because we will enter a new phase where our interaction phase changes," he expressed.
"One of them is health transformation. PMI must be a learner to learn new things and this is an extraordinary moment where PMI now has a mandate during the pandemic," he continued.
Meanwhile, PMI Jakarta Chairperson, Rustam Effendi believed, Bulan Dana PMI 2020 achievement which exceeded the target showed high public trust in PMI. He ensured that funds collected in Bulan Dana activity would be returned to the community in form of humanitarian activities carried out by PMI.
"After being audited by Public Accountant, donations collected at Bulan Dana will be returned to the communities in form of humanitarian activities carried out by PMI. Especially during the pandemic, we will continue holding convalescent plasma donor massively," he stated.
