Irwandi Monitors Pump Houses in Senen and Angkasa Underpasses

Central Jakarta Acting Mayor (Plh), Irwandi monitored pump house located in Angkasa and Senen Underpasses, on Monday (1/25).

In this monitoring, he wanted to ensure readiness of two pump houses in handling inundation.

"We need to monitor pumps in underpass, whether it is running or not. There are four underpasses in Central Jakarta which monitored today," he mentioned, Monday (1/25).

Central Jakarta to Set Up Security Posts at the Underpass Pump Houses

Not only checking the pumps, his side also checked stilling basin channels located under the underpass.

"There should be no blockage in stilling basin because the underpass area is prone to inundation," he asserted.

Central Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency Head, Rakim emphasized that his side has anticipated inundation in Senen, Dukuh Atas, Matraman, and Angkasa Underpasses.

"Pumps in four underpasses can be used optimally to anticipate inundation and flooding," he explained.

His side also optimized mud dredging work in underpasses' stilling basin to ensure rainwater to run well.

"We have deployed personnel to be on standby 24 hours in pump house, which divided into several work shifts," he closed.
