Panggang Island Residents Want Construction of Connecting Road to Be Realized

"This is considered to have the potential to increase the tourism sector and economic wheels

The regional development planning forums (musrenbang) meeting for Panggang Island Urban Village, North Thousand Islands Sub-district, made 34 proposals. One of them was the construction of a road connecting Karya, Panggang and Pramuka islands.

Panggang Island Urban Village Head Pepen Kuswandi said the road construction had been proposed since 2004.

"This is considered to have the potential to increase the tourism sector and economic wheels," he expressed, Thursday (2/4).

He explained that the physical development which was also a priority recommendation for residents included construction of a hospital with a more complete capacity and facilities, construction of a mini stadium, and a ring road on Pramuka Island.

As for non-physical proposals, it was made in the form of trainings such as training to increase human resources and the competence of tourism service actors, as well as training related to technical fields for residents.

"In overall, in the meeting, we discuss about 34 proposals, with details of 31 template proposals and 3 direct proposals," he explained.

In the meantime, when opening the musrenbang for Panggang Island via zoom app, Thousand Islands Regent Junaedi advised that the related regional apparatus organizations (OPD) fully supported the proposal.

"We want this proposal to be brought until the musrenbang at the next level and become a work plan for the upcoming 2022," he stated.
