Some 15 PPSU members are seen cleaning up trash on streets and drains in Jati Padang Urban Village, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta.

Jati Padang Urban Village Head Narip Arifin said, it was carried out to anticipate blockages in the drain and to create a clean environment.

"It's the rainy season now already. So it is important to maintain the environment from flooding due to blockage of trash," he expressed.

He continued those members were alerted on Jalan Raya Ragunan, Pejaten Raya, Buncit Raya, Jati Raya, Marga Satwa Raya, and several residential areas.

At the location, trash was dominated by pieces of wood, plastic, etc.

"They (PPSU members) also cut tree branches on the side of the street so they don't break when it rains and winds," he stated.
