Residents affected by floods in Cipinang Melayu, Makasar, East Jakarta, received disaster management equipment aid from the Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), on Tuesday (2/23) night.
The aid was handed over by Jakarta BPBD Emergency Division Head, Wardoyo to 13 RT caretakers at the yard of the local urban village office yesterday night.
Cawang People Receive Flood Prevention Facilities and Infrastructure AidCipinang Melayu Urban Village Head Agus Sulaeman said those RT caretakers were from RW 03, 03 and 04. He stated, the aid was very important for residents in the lowlands and close to the Sunter Riverbank that was often overflowed in the rainy season.
"Its distribution is directly witnessed by East Jakarta Vice Mayor, Hendra Hidayat," he said.
He explained the aid was in the form of 13 units of LED flashlights, 13 units of megaphone, 1,300 medical masks, 2,600 cloth masks and 13 evacuation tires.
"Hopefully residents can take use and take good care of them," he hoped.
RW 04 Cipinang Melayu Chairman Irwan Kurniadi admitted it was very important for locals, especially in flood-prone areas.
