Drainage Construction on Jalan Pasar Baru Timur Continued

Central Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency continues water channel construction work on Jalan Pasar Baru Timur, Pasar Baru Urban Village, Sawah Besar.

Central Jakarta SDA Sub-agency's Drainage Channel Maintenance Section Head, Glen Santista mentioned, construction of 400-meter water channel is expected to minimize inundation on Jalan Pasar Baru area which often occurs during heavy rain.

"This construction work is the continuation from program in 2020 which is considered successful in overcoming inundation in the region," he added, Wednesday (3/3).

Damaged Gutters in Kota Tua Area Being Repaired

Last year, his side built 500-meter channel with depth of 1 meters on Jalan Pasar Baru Timur. This channel was built to hold rainwater and flow it into stilling basin.

"Water in stilling basin will be drained using pump to Ciliwung River," he informed.

His side has coordinated with City Park and Forestry Sub-agency to take care of trees affected by channel construction.

"We are targeting to complete channel on Jalan Pasar Baru Timur in April," he closed.
