Seven Netted in Mask Operation in the Waters of Thousand Islands

At least seven vessel passengers were netted by the joint personnel for not wearing masks in the waters of the Thousand Islands, on Thursday (3/25).

We warn them not to make the same mistake

Thousand Islands Satpol PP Head Rahmat Effendi Lubis disclosed the mask operation in the waters was conducted using a patrol ship in order to ensure fishermen and vessel operators comply with health protocols from wearing masks, implementing distance guard and limiting passenger capacity.

"We give verbal warning to the violators," he expressed.

He explained that the operation involved army and police was conducted in a persuasive, educational and humanist manner.

"We warn them not to make the same mistake. The use of masks is important for the safety of ourselves and others from Covid-19," he explained.

District Military Commander (Danramil) 04/KS, Mayor Ali Anwar Faola, added the distribution of free masks was also conducted during the operation.

"So, there is no reason not to wear a mask. Hopefully the community will be more obedient to wearing masks for the common interest," he hoped.
