Central Jakarta Intensifies Raid against PPKS Ahead of Ramadan

The Central Jakarta Social Sub-agency intensifies the raid against people with social welfare issues (PPKS) ahead of Ramadan.

Central Jakarta Social Sub-agency Head Ngapuli Perangin Angin expressed it was conducted to anticipate newcomers from outside of Jakarta, such as beggars, vagabonds and street singers.

To maximize it, his side had collaborated with related units, namely Satpol PP and Transportation Sub-agency. The raid itself was focused on protocol roads spread over eight sub-districts.

"On March 24 and 26, as many as 168 PPKS were successfuly netted. We also urged residents not to give money to them," he said.

As for the information, from 168 people, 98 were netted on March 24 and 70 were netted on March 26.

"They are brought to Tanah Abang GOR to undergo rapid test first before being sent to the Social House for coaching," he stated.
