COVID-19 Vaccination for Teachers Held at Tanjung Priok Youth Center

COVID-19 vaccination for teachers in Tanjung Priok Sub-district was carried out at Tanjung Priok Youth Center on Jalan Sunter Karya Agung VI No. 1, Sunter Agung Urban Village, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.

Tanjung Priok Sub-district Health Center (Puskesmas) Head, Ahrahayati Wildany informed, according to the schedule, vaccination is held on April 5-12, 2021.

"We carry out COVID-19 vaccination for teachers at public and private schools in Tanjung Priok Sub-district," she said, Tuesday (4/6).

East Jakarta Starts Vaccinating 600 Teachers Today

In Tanjung Priok Sub-district, her side targeted to vaccinate 4,300 teachers from early childhood education (PAUD), kindergarten, elementary, junior high to high school/vocational school levels.

"Vaccination for teachers will be carried out until April 12, 2021 with daily target of 600-700 teachers. Today's vaccination target is 700 teachers,"

Her side deployed 5 teams to carry out COVID-19 vaccination for teachers. Each teams consist of 20 health workers at Tanjung Priok Sub-district Health Center.

"COVID-19 vaccination for teachers is carried out as preparation for face-to-face learning in schools which is planned to be implemented in the new academic year or July 2021. God willing, this vaccination is safe," she asserted.

Sunter Agung Urban Village Head, Danang Wijanarko supported and positively welcomed implementation of COVID-19 vaccination for teachers. Vaccination, he assessed, is an effort to break the chain of COVID-19 transmission.

"Vaccination can provide immunity for teachers against COVID-19 thus later they can undergo face-to-face learning activities normally. Hopefully it can prevent teachers from being exposed to COVID-19 and hopefully everyone is in good health," he conveyed.

Annisa (53), Grade II teacher at SDN Sunter Jaya 01 Pagi who participated in this vaccination felt grateful to have the opportunity to receive COVID-19 vaccine. After vaccination, she said that she is now ready to carry out face-to-face learning which scheduled in July 2021.

"I am grateful that I get opportunity to be vaccinated because it is an effort to prevent COVID-19 transmission in addition to implementing health protocols," she closed.
