Latest Information on COVID-19 Cases and Vaccination in Jakarta as of April 8, 2021

Jakarta Government urges all people to be more disciplined in implementing 3M health protocols because COVID-19 positive cases are still increasing. Although the government continues to intensify 3T action, it needs cooperation from the community to break the chain of COVID-19 transmission.

Number of people tested for PCR in the past week reached 61,896

Jakarta Health Agency's Disease Prevention and Control Division Head, Dwi Oktavia stated, based on the latest data from Jakarta Health Agency, PCR test has been carried out to 12,804 specimens. From that amount, 9,603 specimens have been tested today to diagnose new cases with total of 1,239 positive results and 8,364 negative results. Besides, Antigen test was also conducted to 4,306 people with 96 positive results and 4,210 negative results.

"For information, 327,549 PCR tests have been carried out per 1 million population. While the number of people tested for PCR in the past week reached 61,896. Number of positive cases increased by 601 cases thus in total it reached 6,897 active cases as of today (including people who are still being treated/isolated)," she explained as quoted in Jakarta PPID Press Release.

West Jakarta Synchronizes COVID Vaccination Data for Elderly

Meanwhile for total confirmed cases in Jakarta as of today reached 389,577 cases. It should be noted that positive antigen test results in Jakarta were not included in total positive cases because all were reconfirmed by PCR.

From total positive cases, 376,270  people recovered with recovery rate of 96.6% and 6,410 people died with mortality rate of 1.6%. While mortality rate in Indonesia reached 2.7%

For positivity rate or positive cases percentage in the past week in Jakarta reached 10.0%, while the percentage of positive cases in total reached 11.2%. WHO also set standard positive cases percentage no more than 5%.

Vaccination process is still ongoing. Vaccination target for stage 1 and 2 (for health workers, elderly and public servants) is 3,000,689 people. Currently, first dose vaccination has been given to 1,436,663 people (47.9%) and second dose vaccination to 619,311 people (20.6%).

In detail, for health workers, first dose vaccination has been given to 122,553 people (109.1%) and second dose to 106,800 people (95.1%) with total vaccination target 112,301 people.

For elderly group, first dose vaccination has been given to 500,370 people (54.9%) and second dose to 142,698 people (15.7%) with total vaccination target 911,631 people. In public service group, first dose vaccination has been given to 813,740 people (41.2%) and second dose to 369,813 people (18.7%) with total vaccination target 1,976,757 people.

Jakarta Satpol PP also gives sanction for anyone who don't wear mask and violate health protocols, and intensifies guest book data collection. It is hoped that people can be more disciplined in implementing health protocols and participating in breaking the chain of COVID-19 transmission.

Jakarta Provincial Government is still opening opportunity for residents who want to provide assistance to the others who affected by COVID-19 through Large-scale Social Collaboration (KSBB) Program.
