Kramat Jati Puskesmas - Professional Organization Launches Vaccination Acceleration Program

The Kramat Jati Sub-district Puskesmas, East Jakarta together with four health professional organizations and one health organization, launched a collaborative program to accelerate the implementation of the Covid-19 vaccination, on Sunday (6/13).

It is expected to have a significant impact on overcoming the Covid-19 in Indonesia, especially in East Jakarta area

Those four organizations were the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI), the Indonesian Dentist Association (PDGI), the Indonesian National Nurses (PPNI), the Indonesian Midwives Association (IBI) and the non-health organization for the East Jakarta Branch's Indonesian Doctor's Wives Association (IIDI).

East Jakarta IDI Chairman, Aldrin said the program was launched to provide Covid-19 vaccination services in Kramat Jati District Puskesmas area with the support of around 300 volunteers from health and non-health professional organizations.

It would be held on June 13 to December 31, every Saturday at 8 AM to 12 PM.

"It is expected to have a significant impact on overcoming the Covid-19 in Indonesia, especially in East Jakarta area," he said.

This collaboration is the first in Indonesia with the aim of accelerating vaccination coverage and achieving herd immunity.

Kramat Jati Sub-district Puskesmas Head, Inda Mutiara hoped that the program could increase the enthusiasm of its staff in dealing with Covid.

"All this time we also have cooperated wirh related units in Kramat Jati to stop the disease. It happens, as there are many central government hospitals, regional governments, army/police hospitals and so forth," she explained.

According to her, collaboration with these five professional organizations was aimed at boosting the achievement of the vaccination target. Moreover, Jakarta was targeting to vaccinate around 7.5 million people by the upcoming August.

"We fully support to achieve the target," he closed.
