Klender RPTRA Construction Begins

The Klender child-friendly public space (RPTRA) construction work that is located on Jalan Dermaga Raya, Klender Urban Village, Duren Sawit Sub-district, East Jakarta has finally begun.

It is realized through collaboration with Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI) supported by PT Hanwha Life Insurance Indonesia

Jakarta Child Protecti on and Empowerment and Population Control (PPAPP) Agency Head, Tuty Kusumawati said it was built on a land as wide as 1,101 square meters.

"It is realized through collaboration with Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI) supported by PT Hanwha Life Insurance Indonesia," she expressed, Wednesday (6/16).

She explained, thus far, there had been around 23 RPTRAs in Jakarta, six of them had been certified as Child Friendly Playrooms (RBRA) from the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA).

Its existence was expected to become the center of all community activities, from children to the elderly. Therefore, it would keep being developed and collaborated with other programs.

"We'll make it as a learning center for residents, a reference place for residents, a complaint center and as a place for residents to complain," she stated.

TP PKK's Family Character Development Section Chairwoman, Ellisa Sumarlin added it could be used as a center for learning, training, development, and referrals from various activity groups (Poktan) that support the 10 main PKK programs.

Hopefully it was able to meet the basic needs of children's rights, thus it could be one of the means to realize a Child-friendly City, thus children's lives are of better quality where they could develop their dignity and when they grow up they become superior human resources.

"RPTRA management must be done in synergy and in collaboration with various parties, starting from government, private and higher education institutions, thus it can be used as a vehicle for fostering children's growth and development," she uttered.

She added that it was one of the choices of the Jakarta administration in the use of open land to be used as green open land and became a locus in various community empowerment activities. Especially, for the development of creative activities and productivity of women as well as the welfare of children's lives.

"The role and function of it is quite strategic in the lives of children and the community, hopefully this Klender RPTRA will provide real benefits for residents," she hoped.

As for the information, it is realized by involving the community and children to explore interests and ideas. It will have with library room, multipurpose room, lactation room, PKK Mart, playground, jogging track, reflection park, and family medicine garden.
