Health Workers at Nagrak Rusunawa and Gravediggers Receive Social Aid

The Child-Friendly Integrated Public Space (RPTRA) caretakers in Jakarta held a solidarity action to help the needs of health workers at the Nagrak low-cost apartment (Rusunawa) and support needs for gravediggers at the Rorotan Public Cemetery (TPU), North Jakarta.

RPTRA Management Solidarity Action Coordinator, Suto Warso said, the aid given was mops, plastic buckets, toilet and floor cleaning fluid, cloth rags, toilet brushes, bathroom brushes, air freshener, clothes hangers and brooms.

"For gravediggers, we give them masks, medicines, vitamins, biscuits, wafers, coffee and milk," he expressed, Friday (7/23).

According to him, it is the result of fundraising from 1,926 caretakers in 323 RPTRAs in Jakarta.

"We hope it is able to support health workers who care for patients who undergo self-isolation in the rusunawa. Previously we had communicated with them to find out what was needed," he explained.

He added, gravediggers were very at risk of being infected with Covid-19, but they risk their lives for the sake of humanity.

"That's why, it is done to maintain their health and stamina amid the pandemic. There are about 100 diggers at the Rorotan TPU," he stated.

He hoped that they could keep up the spirit and take care of their health under health protocols.

"Keep the spirit of working with heart and sincerity, hopefully this will become a field of worship," he said.
