228 Vehicles Controlled in a Week

As many as 228 vehicles were controlled by Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department in a week. The raid held from November 17-22 was one of the efforts from Jakarta Provincial Government to parse traffic congestion in the capital city.

“We have towed 15 cars during a week operation,” stated Head of Central Jakarta Transport Sub-Department Monitoring and Control Section, Harlem Simanjuntak, Sunday (11/23).

Besides 15 cars towed, Simanjuntak continued, his ranks also ticketed 50 vehicles and removed the tire valves of 153 motorcycles. In addition, three public transports and goods transport got their operation stopped due to unworthy vehicles.

“In holding operation, we are always cooperating with the police,” he said.

Therefore, Simanjuntak stressed that his department will continue holding raid against vehicles which parked illegally.

“Every day, we always monitor illegal parking prone points, such as Tanah Abang, Roxy, and Cikini. In a day, at least two cars towed,” he told.
