"This morning we have released the 5-ton rice distribution trucks at Cipinang Main Market, East Jakarta toward the targeted residents in 24 RWs or 25,137 people spread across Cakung Barat and Timur urban villages," expressed Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Thursday (7/29).
He explained that the 10-kg premium rice distribution to each recipient is part of social assistance for the community in Jakarta, with a total recipient of 1,007,379 families. He went on to say that the rice distributed was rice from the farmer groups associations (Gapoktan) in Indramayu, Karawang, Lampung, Ngawi, Sumedang and Garut. It is a form of inter-regional cooperation that has long been initiated by the administration through the Tjipinang Jaya Food Station.
"This action continues what we have pioneered so far, where we invite rice-producing centers to work together and absorb the production to be utilized in Jakarta. That means we work together for mutual benefit in terms of economy and help our people in fulfilling rice needs," he explained.
He explained that the rice that will be distributed is rice produced by the Tjipinang Jaya Food Station with good quality. "So this is very good for consumption," he added.
It was also confirmed by the PT Food Statin Tjipinang Jaya President Director, Pamrihadi Wiraryo. He asserted, the rice distributed was premium quality rice with the brands Sentra Ramos, Tjap Bunga, and Ojolali.
"There are premium and medium quality, namely premium has a fracture content of less than 15 percent and medium has a moisture content of only 14 percent to ensure the beneficiaries get their rights in accordance with the provisions," he closed.
