East Jakarta Mayor Motivates 832 PPSU Members in Pulogadung

East Jakarta Mayor Muhammad Anwar, encouraged 832 PPSU members from Pulogadung Sub-district to always be ready to face the rainy season, on Thursday (10/7).

"We want them to be more active and enthusiastic in serving the community," he expressed, when he led a ceremony in the Pulogadung Sub-district office yard, Thursday (7/10).

According to him, the ceremony was held for monitoring and evaluating performance, as well as disciplining and giving guidance to 832 PPSU members in Pulogadung spread over seven villages.

"This is also for flood preparedness, especially in cleaning waterways in community settlements," he stated.

On that occasion, he also instructed the Economic and Development Division Head to routinely check the completeness of PPSU members, ranging from clothes, shoes and other accessories.

"Their uniforms and equipment must be complete to face any calamity. If not, we will sanction the leader due to weak supervision and coaching," he asserted.

Pulogadung Sub-district Head, Bambang Pangestu revealed, those PPSU members had worked optimally and according to their duties, especially in handling water channels. If it requires technical and heavy handling, it will be the authority of Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency which has complete equipment.

"Every time we also remind them to be more optimal. Especially in the face of the rainy season, as there are still several flood-prone points in Pulogadung," he said.

Those flood-prone points were Kayu Putih Urban Village, Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan area, Jalan Kayu Putih, Pedongkelan, Jalan Pulo Nangka Timur, Pisangan Timur Urban Village (Bea Cukai Reservoir and its surrounding areas).
