Heavy Rain, Some Trees and Billboards Collapsed

Trees fell around 3 PM. One home was also damaged after being hit by a large banyan tree

A number of trees and billboards are collapsed after heavy rain and strong winds poured the capital at noon, Friday (11/28). As a result, several streets cannot be bypassed and cause traffic congestion.

As it happens at Jalan Gunawan, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. Vehicles cannot pass the street due to blocked by four fallen trees type angsana and mahoni. Consequently, traffic from Jalan Trunojoyo towards Jalan Senopati paralyzed.

"Trees fell around 3 PM. One home was also damaged after being hit by a large banyan tree," expressed Head of Selong Urban Village, Harry Rudi, Friday (11/28).

Rudi told evacuation process is still ongoing. Vehicles cannot pass on Jalan Gunawarman and should turn back through Jalan Kertanegara and then turn toward Jalan Senopati. "Officers of Selong Urban Village and Rawa Barat assisted by South Jakarta Park Sub-Department and police are still evacuating fallen trees and manage traffic at the scene," he stated.

Besides fallen trees, he added, three traffic signs on Jalan Gunawarman and one billboard on Jalan Senopati towards SCBD area also collapsed. There is no casualty reported in such incident.
