100 Orphans Enjoy Recreation to Dufan

These kids are neglected children and orphans from poor families. So traveling like this means a lot to them

Around 100 teenagers from Taruna Jaya Youth Education Home (PSBR Taruna Jaya 1), Tebet, South Jakarta, accompanied by 21 assistants enjoyed recreation to Dunia Fantasi Taman Impian Jaya Ancol, popularly known as Dufan.

PSBR Taruna Jaya 1 Head, Budi Hastuti said, it was conducted to provide entertainment and relieve boredom considering they only participated in activities at the orphanage  during the Covid-19 pandemic.

"The busy routine of the orphanage makes them bored. That's why, we invite them for recreation that aims to help their mental development," she expressed.

According to her, it was accomplished thanks to the support of Social Agency (Dinsos) and Jakarta Regional Cooperation Bureau (KSD) in collaboration with PT Taman Impian Jaya Ancol.

She furthered, the School Transportation Management Unit (UPAS) also helped to provide six buses. There were also food and clothing aid from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) through program of Africa-Asia Development Relief Foundation (ADRF) Dream Center.

"These kids are neglected children and orphans from poor families. So traveling like this means a lot to them," she stated.

Putri Ayana (21), one of participants admitted, she was happy to enjoy various games in Dufan, such as propeller, kora-kora, doll house, and so forth.

"So happy, my friends and I can do refreshing today. So far, I've only played in the orphanage," she stated.
